Religious and faith-based communities as well as multi-sectoral organizations would be sensitized and
made awareof the ramifications of the virus and its reality and magnitude within their faith own faith
communities, through the programmes of AINA.
Such sensitized religious and faith based communities by avoiding judgementalism, stigma and discrimination, and instead, incorporating compassion, care and the core spiritual values of each faith, supported by their scriptures will help those infected and affected
by HIV and AIDS to lead quality lives withintheir communities and
full citizens of their nation. AINA believes religious and faith
communities play a pivotal role in influencing attitudes and
support of their followers and communities around the world.
Sensitization of the faith based community will ultimately help
people around the world to see HIV and AIDS issues with lesser
discrimination and with respect thus helping adult and children
living with HIV and AIDS lead a dignified life.
Sensitization is a process, which AINA will strive to achieve through the principle of greater involvement
of peopleliving with HIV (GIPA). AINA has ensured participation of men and women living with HIV and
AIDS in program planning and implementation in all the objectives of AINA. The
physical presence of people living with HIV and AIDS in AINA, their voice and their experience, are gifts to the work that AINA has undertaken. AINA will underscore the importance of our speaking with people who are positive and not about people
who are positive.
